Scott Wolf’s estranged wife, Kelley, has issued a public apology to the actor, saying she is sorry for dragging him and their family through what she described as a “nightmare” as their divorce and related legal troubles continue.
In a lengthy message shared to Instagram on Friday, the life coach revealed she was diagnosed with ‘breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis’ following a severe mental health crisis.
Kelley, 49, acknowledged that previous statements she made were not “based in truth or reality,” marking a striking shift in tone amid the former couple’s ongoing split.
“Wow… I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this. How do I even start? It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help,” she wrote, months after she and Scott were seen together during a family outing at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
She continued, “I felt like my brain had been hijacked, and the world was moving at the speed of a freight train.”

Shortly after, Kelley suffered a severe psychological breakdown, leading to an involuntary psychiatric hold and erratic social media behavior.
The Party of Five alum was granted temporary custody of their three children and a temporary protective order, which was later dissolved after a brief agreement.
Then, in August 2025, Kelley was arrested and faced misdemeanor charges for online harassment and doxxing after sharing Wolf’s personal cell phone number on her Instagram account.
Subsequent protective orders were re-imposed following the latest escalation of events, before Wolf dropped the order in late 2025 after reaching new custody and visitation terms.
Kelley voluntarily entered a mental health treatment facility in September, saying at a court hearing, ‘My brother is taking me. It’s fantastic. It’s a great place. I recommended it all the time as a mental health professional myself, so September 12, I will be there for a month. I hope that helps.’
‘I had no awareness of my actions,’ Kelley shared in her recent Instagram post, adding that she was ‘completely delusional.’
‘After a year of working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists, and healers, I have an answer,’ she went on.
‘What I experienced was diagnosed as breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis… caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications.

‘A perfect storm,’ Kelley added.
‘I won’t recount all of the chaos, but what has burdened my soul is my need to say… I am so sorry.’
Kelley then directly addressed Wolf with a heartfelt apology.
‘My husband of 20 years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script; it was so brutal,’ she shared. ‘The things I did, said, wrote and posted caused profound harm and were not based in truth or reality, and they caused pain I could never imagine to the people I love the most.
‘My brain turned on me. In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder. I have spent my life believing in love, hope, kindness and compassion. What I became was the opposite: Cruel. Vicious. Mean… In mania and psychosis, people can attack the ones they love the most and believe grand and delusional ideas.’
Kelley stated she ‘will never be the same’ after the things she said and did ’caused enormous pain.’
‘Scott and my kids… There won’t be a day that I don’t thank God for you. Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life.
‘It was my job to protect you, honor you, and keep you safe, and I became the cause of your heartbreak. I am sorry. You never gave up on me, and you fought like hell until you landed me in safe harbor. I owe you my life.’

She added: ‘I will work hard to use this life to leave it better, to pay it forward, and to never give up on the power of love. To all of you who offered support, love, encouragement and hope… You gave us strength and showed us that we are all more loving than cruel. Thank you.’
Kelley also apologized to friends and family in Park City, Utah.
‘This has been our home for 20 years, and hurting you was like burning down my own house,’ she said. ‘Thank you for loving our family and continuing to prove why this is a place where we found the meaning of home. I am sorry. Your grace has humbled me.’
Wolf responded to Kelley’s public apology by leaving five red heart emojis in the comments.
In February, Wolf and Kelley reunited for a family day at Universal Studios Hollywood.
‘Healing,’ he wrote on Instagram at the time alongside a family photo. ‘Thank you @unistudios for an epic day at the park! So much fun!’
Back in October of last year, Wolf also shared a birthday tribute for his estranged wife, writing: ‘Happy birthday to you.’
