ATLANTA — At just 8 weeks old, a puppy named Junie was found with her mouth sealed shut, her tiny body tossed like garbage. Now, an animal advocate and dog rescuer not only nursed her back to health but is calling for accountability. 

It all started with a message from a follower of Tiffany Webb’s, @atldoglady, on TikTok about a week ago. Webb is a dog rescuer in the metro Atlanta area. The follower stated she found Junie in a dumpster with her leg broken and her mouth sealed shut, so she called Webb for help. 

Webb took Junie to the vet, notified the police, placed her in her care, and even decided to foster her. Junie couldn’t really eat solid foods and took a minute to warm up to others.

Webb didn’t just rescue Junie. She brought her home, wrapped her in a blanket, and gave her the first moment of safety she may have ever felt.

She has been documenting Junie’s journey on TikTok, with many of her videos going viral. Many followers have been showing plenty of support, with many continuously asking for updates. Some followers have generously bought Junie a new bed and toys from Webb’s wishlist.

On Friday, Junie visited 11Alive, where she warmed up to the staff for cuddles.

While Junie is healing, Webb wants more than a happy ending—she wants justice. She has launched the Justice for Junie campaign to help find whoever is responsible for this. The movement has gained traction online, with custom T-shirts being made to support the cause.

Webb said it’s important that those responsible are held accountable. Webb is offering $5,000 personally to find out who might have abused Junie. 

“I think it’s imperative because if they’re not caught, they’ll just get another puppy and hurt another puppy, and they could have people in their life that they’re hurting,” she said. “And it’s just really important that these people are held accountable.”
