Senator Lindsey Graham urged on Sunday that the United States should take military action against anyone approaching Iran’s nuclear materials, which have been secured since the strikes on three nuclear sites last summer.
During an appearance on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” Graham discussed President Trump’s intentions, stating, “He wants to secure the nuclear remnants. There’s an alternative approach, and I discussed it with him yesterday.”
Graham elaborated, “We should define a perimeter around the known location, calling it the ‘circle of death.’ Anyone entering this zone will be eliminated until a solution is found. The aim is to prevent them from accessing the materials, making dirty bombs, or advancing their nuclear capabilities, which have been significantly disrupted for at least a couple of years.”
Following Graham’s comments, President Trump took to Truth Social, posting, “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking. They need to act quickly, or they risk facing total destruction. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”
Since April 8, a fragile cease-fire has been in place between Washington and Tehran. Meanwhile, the U.S. has enforced a naval blockade on Iranian ports since April 13, leading to the near shutdown of the crucial Strait of Hormuz, a passageway for about 20% of the world’s oil supply.
