Shannon Sharpe threatens to 'choke f***ing s***' out of ex' in tape

Shannon Sharpe previously threatened to choke the girlfriend who is now suing him for $50 million over rape accusations, according to newly released audio provided to DailyMail.com by the woman’s attorney.

‘… I’m gonna f***ing choke the s*** out of you when I see you,’ 56-year-old Sharpe is heard telling the woman, identified only as ‘Jane Doe’ in her lawsuit.

DailyMail.com has requested comment from both Sharpe’s attorney and ESPN, where the popular podcaster is a frequent guest on Stephen A. Smith’s ‘First Take.’ An ESPN spokesperson has declined to comment.

Sharpe has denied the rape accusations made by his 20-something ex-girlfriend and has countered with his own claim that she is trying to score a major financial settlement from a consensual relationship. His attorney, Lanny J. Davis, named the accuser in Monday’s statement that also included several sexually explicit text messages she allegedly sent to the Denver Broncos legend.

Responding to Sharpe’s denials, plaintiff attorney Tony Buzbee released a statement Tuesday accusing Davis of lying about the accuser and misrepresenting her salacious text messages. Buzbee also claims ‘an incredibly damning video does indeed exist’ and its contents will ‘speak volumes about Mr. Sharp and his behavior.’

Furthermore, Buzbee alleges that Sharpe has already offered his client a ‘hefty sum’ to settle the case, only for the plaintiff to decline the payoff.

‘A little history,’ Buzbee wrote in his statement. ‘Back in early February, our office contacted Mr. Sharpe on behalf of Jane Doe and broached the subject of a meeting.

‘Multiple conversations took place,’ the statement continued. ‘Ultimately a mediation occurred. Mr. Sharpe was represented by different lawyers in that mediation. That mediation process went on for more than six weeks, ultimately leading to Mr. Sharpe making an incredibly significant offer to settle. Ultimately Jane Doe refused the hefty sum offered by Sharpe and instead filed this case last night.’

The recording provided to DailyMail.com by Buzbee’s office purportedly contains a conversation between Sharpe and his accuser, who, according to her lawsuit, was only 20 when they began dating in late 2023.

‘You want to be a d*** to me now, so…,’ a man’s voice, believed to be Sharpe’s, is heard saying.

A woman’s voice quickly chimed in: ‘I don’t want to be… Don’t manipulate me!’

The man’s voice also responded quickly.

‘If you say that word one more time, I’m gonna f***ing choke the s*** out of you when I see you,’ he said.

After a long pause, his voice is heard saying: ‘Thank you.’

An even longer pause then followed before the woman is heard saying: ‘I don’t want to be choked.’

The man then responds: ‘Yes you do. I don’t think you have a choice in the matter.’

Sharpe’s legal team also accused the plaintiff of secretly recording a ‘consensual’ sexual encounter with the intention of editing and misrepresenting it for use in her case against the podcaster and ESPN personality.

‘In her effort to extract a large financial settlement, [Jane Doe] presented Mr. Sharpe with a secretly recorded video of a consensual sexual encounter,’ the statement read.

‘We believe the video has been heavily edited and taken entirely out of context, crafted to falsely portray a consensual act as non-consensual. [Jane Doe] has refused to provide a copy of the full, unedited version of the recording to Mr. Sharpe’s legal team.’

Buzbee pushed back against Davis’ statement on Tuesday.

‘The statement from Sharpe’s newest lawyer falsely accuses Ms. Jane Doe of editing a video — a claim that is not only demonstrably false, but also desperate,’ Buzbee wrote. ‘The lawyer also suggests Ms. Doe refused to make the video available to Mr. Sharpe. Again, this assertion is easily proven untrue.

‘Here’s what is true,’ Buzbee continued. ‘Although Jane Doe never referenced any video or multiple audios that she possesses in the lawsuit that she filed, now that Mr. Sharpe’s lawyer has decided to broach that subject, we will address it.’

That aforementioned ‘incredibly damning’ video ‘will be played to the jury,’ Buzbee wrote.
