Sheinelle Jones says she’s ‘taking time’ away from TODAY: ‘I’ll see you soon’

Sheinelle Jones has announced she is taking some time off the air from TODAY in order to attend to “a family health matter.”

She updated fans with a message on Instagram that was read on the show by Savannah Guthrie on Jan. 15.

“Hi everybody … I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show,” Sheinelle said. “I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.

“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my Today Show family, but to also have all of you. Your kindness means so much to me.

I’ll see you soon.

Love, Sheinelle ❤️”

Sheinelle has been with NBC News since 2014 and is a co-host on the 3rd hour of TODAY.

“We know so many of you have been asking about Sheinelle, and missing her, and we miss her, too,” Savannah said after sharing her statement on the air.

“Sheinelle, we all love you, and we are so looking forward to having you back,” Craig Melvin said.

“We’ll see you soon,” Savannah said.

The TODAY family also showed their support for Sheinelle in the comments on her Instagram post.

“We love you so. not the same without you. we will see you soon ❤️,” Savannah wrote.

“You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always ❤️,” Jenna Bush Hager wrote.
