LOS ANGELES — Excitement reached a fever pitch in the ballroom this week as “Dancing with the Stars” celebrated its semifinal round. The evening was a tribute to the legendary artist Prince, featuring music, dance, and a vibrant splash of purple.

The night concluded with an unexpected twist, as one of the competition’s most consistent and high-scoring pairs faced a surprising elimination.

What dances were performed on Prince Night on “Dancing With The Stars” and how were they scored?

In homage to Prince, the six remaining couples took to the floor twice, performing routines set to some of his most famous tracks.

  • Social media personality Alix Earle and partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed an Argentine Tango to “Little Red Corvette” and a Viennese Waltz to “Purple Rain.”
  • Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and partner Witney Carson performed a Jive to “Baby I’m a Star” and a Viennese Waltz to “WOW.”
  • From “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” Whitney Leavitt and partner Mark Ballas performed a Cha Cha to “1999” and a Viennese Waltz to “Slow Love.”
  • Reality TV star and content creator Dylan Efron and partner Daniella Karagach performed a Tango to “I Would Die 4 U” and a Cha Cha to “Kiss.”
  • Film and TV actress Elaine Hendrix and partner Alan Bersten performed a Foxtrot to “I Wanna Be Your Lover” and a Paso Doble to “When Doves Cry.”
  • Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and partner Ezra Sosa performed a Jive to “Raspberry Beret” and an Argentine Tango to “U Got the Look.”

Following their performances, judges tallied the scores, resulting in a competitive leaderboard:

  • Robert Irwin and Witney Carson – 59 out of 60
  • Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy- 58 out of 60
  • Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas – 58 out of 60
  • Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten – 57 out of 60

Who was sent home in the semifinals of Dancing with the Stars Season 34?

However, as fans of the show know, the judges’ scores are only part of the equation. Once audience votes were counted, the outcome took a shocking turn, leading to the unexpected departure of a favored couple.

Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas were sent home.

Next week, it’s the Season 34 finale, and we’ll see a full three hours of dancing before we learn who will take home the coveted Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy.
