Arizona Cardinals' Andre Baccellia leaves on a stretcher after injuring neck on kickoff return

On December 14, 2025, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Andre Baccellia sustained a neck injury during a kickoff return in a game against the Houston Texans. The incident occurred just before halftime, prompting immediate medical attention on the field.

Baccellia was transported to a hospital for further examination and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Despite the injury, the Cardinals confirmed that Baccellia was conscious and had full mobility in his limbs, providing some reassurance amid the tense situation.

The injury happened as Baccellia advanced the ball 26 yards before being tackled by a group of players. Concerned teammates and opponents gathered around as medical personnel attended to him for several minutes on the field.

The Cardinals announced Baccellia was being taken to a hospital for further evaluation and will not return to the game. They added that Baccellia was alert and had full movement of all of his extremities.

Baccellia returned the kick 26 yards just before halftime before being taken down in a group of several players. He remained on the ground for several minutes while medical staff tended to him as players from both teams looked on with concern.

The wide receiver was then immobilized and placed on a stretcher before being taken off the field. He raised his right arm in the air and gave a thumbs up as he was taken off the field.
