A man who had been reported missing was discovered deceased in his vehicle, after the car had been moved by two towing companies before anyone noticed him.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — It took over two weeks and two separate towing operations before the body of a deceased man was found in the backseat of a car in Woodbridge, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.Â
The Prince William County Police Department revealed that a private towing service was called on November 3 to remove a vehicle from the parking lot of PS Business Park located on PS Business Center Drive. The vehicle was initially towed to one location and later transferred to a different tow lot situated in Fairfax County.
It wasn’t until 15 days later that employees at the Fairfax County tow facility discovered the man’s body on the backseat floor and subsequently alerted the authorities.Â
The deceased has been identified as a 49-year-old male, whose disappearance was reported on November 1, two days prior to the towing of his car from the business park.Â
The man’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office to confirm the identity and determine the cause and manner of death. Preliminarily, there does not appear to be any signs of foul play or a threat to the community.Â
