CHICAGO () In a significant legal development, a Chicago judge has issued a preliminary injunction against federal immigration authorities, offering “complete relief.” This action comes after revelations that Gregory Bovino, the U.S. Border Patrol Commander spearheading the initiative known as “Operation Midway Blitz,” provided false testimony under oath.
Judge Sara Ellis expressed grave concerns over the federal authorities’ aggressive measures against demonstrators, clergy, and journalists during the Chicago crackdown, stating that such actions were “shocking to the system” and showed “no signs of abating.”
Ellis was particularly critical of Bovino’s recorded statements regarding the strategies employed by federal agents and the law enforcement’s use of force during Operation Midway Blitz, including his own actions.
