Shocking Scandal: Twin Lakes Academy Middle School Guard Arrested for Lewd Conduct with Student

Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) has taken swift action following allegations against Jon Kee, a security guard at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School in Jacksonville’s Southside. Kee has been reassigned to a position that does not involve interaction with children, as he faces serious accusations involving inappropriate behavior with a student.

According to a DCPS spokesperson, the 27-year-old Kee was arrested on May 29 and is being charged with soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student, a charge classified as a second-degree felony. As of Monday, Kee remains in custody with a bond set at $500,000.

“Upon learning of the arrest, we immediately reassigned the staff member to duties away from campus and without student contact, pending the results of the criminal investigation and our district’s professional standards review,” stated the spokesperson. “Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority.”

He is charged with either soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student as an authority figure — a second-degree felony — and remained in jail with a 500,000 bond Monday.

“Upon receiving notification of the arrest, the individual was immediately reassigned to duties away from our campus and without student contact, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation and the district’s professional standards review,” a DCPS spokesperson said. “The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority.”

According to an arrest report obtained by First Coast News, Kee had begun talking with a student who often saw him at school when she spotted him working at a gas station. Police learned that Kee has allegedly given her a free slushy, candy, and eventually, offered to give her marijuana. Police said after they exchanged numbers, conversations showed he had asked her sexual questions and discussed having sex with her in detail.

According to the school district, Kee began working with the district as an office assistant at the school in February 2022 before transitioning to his role as a security guard in July 2024.

Any student, parent or staff member who believes they may have more information about Kee and thinks they may be able to assist law enforcement in their investigation is encouraged to reach out to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500.
