Car rams into White House barricade, suspect arrested: officials

On Tuesday evening, a dramatic incident unfolded near the White House when a suspect drove a car into a security barricade, leading to an immediate arrest. This was confirmed by a statement from the Secret Service.

The event occurred at around 10:37 p.m. on October 21. The suspect’s vehicle collided with the Secret Service vehicle gate positioned at 17th and E Street, NW, in Washington, D.C., as detailed by a Secret Service representative.

Following the crash, officers from the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division swiftly detained the individual. In collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department, they carried out a thorough inspection of the vehicle, which was ultimately deemed safe.
