On Sunday, Australian authorities were actively dealing with a situation unfolding at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, prompting them to advise the public to steer clear of the area.
Reports from the Sydney Morning Herald indicated that several gunshots were heard at the popular beach spot, though details about potential injuries remained uncertain.
“Anyone at the scene should take shelter,” New South Wales police advised on social media platform X, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.

Videos making rounds on X captured scenes of beachgoers hurriedly dispersing amidst the sounds of gunfire and police sirens, although Reuters has yet to confirm the authenticity of these clips.
Echoing the urgency of the situation, a representative for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated, “We are aware of an active security situation in Bondi. We urge people in the vicinity to follow information from NSW Police.”
