A man sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a shooting incident that unfolded after a traffic collision on St. Johns Bluff Road, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
On a Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Florida, the situation escalated when the man, who was involved in a car crash, attempted to follow another driver who was allegedly part of the accident. This pursuit led to a shooting, shedding light on a case that the authorities are currently investigating.
JSO Sergeant Mitlyng stated that officers were dispatched to the scene located in the 1700 block of St. Johns Bluff Road South around 9 p.m. in response to reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they found the injured man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly fled the scene shortly after the incident occurred, leaving investigators to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
After the shooting, JSO said the suspect left the area.
Mitlyng said detectives canvassed the area for surveillance video and witnesses. The identities of the individuals involved were not released.
