On Wednesday, the acclaimed singer-songwriter P!nk, born Alecia Beth Moore, took to Instagram to share a personal moment from her hospital bed. The 46-year-old artist posted a selfie, aiming to connect with her fans as she wished them a happy new year.
The photo captured a smiling Moore, clad in a hospital gown with a bandage on her neck, marking the beginning of 2026 on an introspective note. Her post revealed that she spent New Year’s Eve undergoing surgery to receive “two new shiny discs” in her neck, a procedure to “fix” her body.
Reflecting on the experience, P!nk expressed gratitude for her body, despite the challenges it has faced. “A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it’s worth,” she wrote, underscoring her resilience. “Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport,” she added, acknowledging the physical demands of her dynamic career.

Her post included a lengthy caption recalling memories from 2025 and what she hopes to happen in the new year after a 2025 that “ran the spectrum from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying.”
“I said goodbye to incredibly important people, and I said hello to new ones. I’ve realized dreams this year, as well as nightmares,” she wrote. “I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made. I hope and pray every person can make that wish, have that choice.”
She said her family spent the new year “happily snowboarding” while she was in the hospital.Â
Moore encouraged fans to keep positive in the new year like she intended.Â
“Let’s do better for ourselves and for others. Let’s not be afraid to take care of ourselves and others,” she wrote. “I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt. I’m going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones. And I’m going to rage against the dying of the light. I’m going to reclaim my wild. And I’m going to keep searching for the light, even as I experience the darkness. #onwardsand upwards as my father used to say.”
Fans flooded the comments and racked up more than 500,000 likes on the post in 24 hours.Â
“Happy new year and may you experience more joy than sorrow, more sunshine than rain, more love than hatred,” Moore finished her caption with.Â
