In Normal, Illinois, an early Sunday morning shooting left six individuals wounded, including two students from Illinois State University, according to local police reports.
The Normal Police Department stated that they responded to a shooting incident reported in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue at approximately 2:40 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that six people had been shot: two male juveniles, two adult men, and two adult women. Fortunately, all victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Both the Normal Police Department and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services are actively involved in gathering and analyzing evidence from the scene.
As of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities suspect that the shooting was an isolated event.
What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.

The Illinois State University Police Department shared the following statement:
“We want to keep our campus community informed about an off-campus shooting that occurred early in the morning on March 22 in the Town of Normal. Illinois State University Police responded to assist Normal Police, and officers at the scene quickly determined this to be an isolated incident.
“Two of the individuals injured are Illinois State University students. Law enforcement is now focused on the ongoing investigation and supporting the victims.
“Illinois State University Police will continue to support the investigation and share updates from our partners as they become available.”
