At least 11 people were killed when three gunmen opened fire at a house party in South Africa, police said Wednesday.
Among the dead was a woman believed to have been pregnant, according to a police statement. Three additional people suffered gunshot wounds.
The attack took place late Tuesday in KwaMakhutha township, about 19 miles south of Durban on South Africa’s east coast.
Police said partygoers were inside the home when the assailants entered and began shooting.
The suspects remained at large, and no arrests had been reported as police continued their search.

Authorities said the motive was still unclear. However, police noted that some people at the gathering were known to them through investigations into criminal activity.
Police declined to provide further details about those investigations.
“Although the motive of the shooting cannot be confirmed yet, feud between rival groupings cannot be ruled out,” police said.
The KwaMakhutha killings are the latest in a string of mass shootings in South Africa in recent years. In June, multiple suspects killed 12 people in a poor Johannesburg neighborhood.
