Southern Zip Code Designated as America’s Latest Thriving Boomtown

In the heart of the South, a vibrant community is capturing national attention as America’s leading boomtown. With its burgeoning population, swift rise in home construction, and a robust economy, Georgetown, Texas, has earned this prestigious title.

According to a recent analysis by Smart Asset, Georgetown heads a list of 400 U.S. cities, emerging as the country’s most dynamic new boomtown. This accolade reflects the town’s impressive strides in population and economic growth.

The study conducted by the personal finance website focused on cities with a minimum population of 65,000, evaluating growth through metrics such as job creation, housing developments, and economic expansion over a five-year span.

From 2019 to 2024, Georgetown witnessed a remarkable 34% increase in home construction, paralleled by a similar surge in its workforce. These figures underscore the town’s rapid transformation and appeal.

Renowned for its safe environment, family-friendly vibe, and attractiveness to retirees, this Southern suburb continues to draw newcomers looking for a thriving and welcoming community.

New spots like Haji Moto and Sovian Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge are energizing the food scene, as it grows to meet the needs of the expanding community.

Georgetown isn’t the only Texas city on the list – in fact, the Lone Star State dominates it.

Texas nearly swept the top five boomtown spots in the nation. Georgetown led the rankings, followed by fellow Central Texas cities New Braunfels at No 2 and Leander at No 4.

Lewisville, a suburb in the Dallas – Fort Worth area, rounded out the top five at No 5, while Lehi, Utah was the only non-Texas city to break into the group, landing at No 3.

Texas has 18 of the 75 fastest-growing cities in the US, according to the report, second only to Florida, which has one more.

The report says that population growth and rising business activity can give a city a noticeable boost, but rapid changes can also transform a community in ways residents might not expect.

‘In recent years, some American cities stand out for attracting people, investment and development at a pace that sets them apart,’ the report said.

‘Boomtown status does not mean growth benefits everyone equally, but it does reflect a city’s expanding economic capacity and the new opportunities that come with it.’
