Is Marjorie Taylor Greene joining The View?

Marjorie Taylor Greene sent shockwaves through Washington, D.C., with her abrupt departure from Congress last week. However, television executives are keen to ensure the former representative doesn’t stay unemployed for long.

Buzz is building that Greene may soon be in the running to join ABC’s The View, especially after her unexpectedly popular guest appearance on the show earlier this month.

These speculations began to circulate when Greene made her unexpected announcement about leaving her position in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Shortly after the news broke, former View co-host Meghan McCain took to X to declare, “I knew she was going to be the next co-host of The View!”

McCain, who represented conservative views on The View from 2017 until her departure in 2021, was succeeded by Alyssa Farah Griffin the following year.

Griffin is currently preparing to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child in February.

It’s convenient timing, given that Greene’s resignation will take effect from January 5.

Speaking to Daily Mail, a View producer said ‘never say never’ when it comes to MTG joining the long-running show.

‘She was actually really lovely behind the scenes – no one expected that,’ the insider said.

‘And I know that we had a lot more social media engagement that day. Before she was on, I’d have been like “absolutely not”, but now I could see the vision if they decided to go that route,’ they continued.

‘I don’t think it’s in the immediate plans or anything, but she is definitely someone who would be on a shortlist.’

Media and PR specialist Vanessa Santos, who runs the politically-charged publicity firm Renegade DC, believes that Greene would be a great fit for the show.

‘The View would be lucky to have her,’ Santos told Daily Mail.

‘Even if she’s distancing herself from Trump right now, she still represents traditional Republican values – and she’d bring a level of courage and clarity that show desperately needs.’

Unfortunately, View staple Joy Behar has already tried to throw water on rumors that MTG could be a replacement for Whoopi Goldberg.

‘Don’t worry, she’s not being replaced by Marjorie Taylor Greene,’ Behar said about Whoopi on Monday’s episode.

Daily Mail has contacted ABC and Greene for comment.

During her appearance on The View earlier this month, Greene, 51, and outspoken liberal co-host Sunny Hostin discussed the Georgia politician’s attacks on both Republicans and Democrats.

At the time, Greene insisted she has always felt comfortable defying party lines and only wants the best for working-class Americans.

She also complained about the government shutdown and said she was sick of the ‘p**sing contest between the men’ while slamming other Washington, DC lawmakers.

The conversation that followed was civil, with the women touching on topics ranging from the administration’s handling of the case surrounding Jeffrey Epstein to Israel’s assault on Gaza.

The appearance was incredibly well received, impressing both Hostin and loyal viewers of the show.

‘I’m sitting here just stumped, because you are a very different person than I thought you were,’ Hostin said at one point during the interview.

Greene responded, ‘Well, you’ve only seen me in clips and headlines, and that’s not fair.’

She added, ‘All of this two-party fighting, you guys are all victims of the political industrial complex. It’s built on fundraising and fighting and toxic garbage. That exists all over social media, but it’s not gonna solve our problems in this country.’

Greene had been embroiled in a nasty spat with Trump in the wake of her guest appearance on The View.

Earlier this month, he branded the Georgia Representative as ‘Marjorie Taylor Brown’ adding, ‘Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!’

In a follow up post, he also labelled her ‘Marjorie Traitor Greene’, after saying she ‘betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left.’

Greene and Trump continued to trade social media barbs with Greene sharing screenshots of texts she sent to Trump about the Epstein files.

On November 21, Greene announced she will resign from Congress at the beginning of 2026 following her split from longtime ally Trump.

In a lengthy statement and 10-minute video, she branded the president ‘hateful’ over his decision to retract his endorsement of her, a move which saw him dismiss Greene as a ‘ranting lunatic’.

The Georgia lawmaker cited a growing disgust with the political establishment in Washington and her fight for the release of the so-called Epstein files which formed the brunt of her feud with Trump.

Trump appeared to soften in the aftermath of Greene’s resignation from Congress.

‘It’s not going to be easy for her,’ he said referring to her being able to revive her career in politics. ‘I’d love to see that.’
