Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Fox News, Accusing Network of ‘Brainwashing’ Older Viewers

In a sharp critique aimed at Fox News, former Donald Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene has accused the network of spreading pro-war propaganda, following their Sunday afternoon coverage. Greene, who once represented Georgia in Congress, expressed her discontent on the social media platform X, declaring, “Fox News is now the fake news. Brainwashing boomers to support what we voted against.”

Her comments came as a response to a post by Ann Coulter, another former Trump supporter turned critic. Coulter had voiced her own frustrations with the network’s portrayal of the ongoing conflict, stating, “Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner.”

Coulter’s remarks alluded to the controversy surrounding Dominion Voting Systems. In 2023, Fox News settled a lawsuit with the company for $787 million. This settlement came after several hosts on the network had given airtime to Trump’s debunked claims that the 2020 election was “stolen,” alleging Dominion machines were involved in the supposed fraud.

‘Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner,’ Coulter claimed.

The quip was a nod to the voting machine company the network settled with in 2023 for $787 million. At the time, several Fox hosts’ platformed Trump’s disproven theory the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ and that Dominion machines played a part.

Coulter – a former Fox regular – fell out with the president roughly eight years ago over what was then framed as Trump’s failure to deliver on his border wall.

Greene, 51, split with the conservative early this year over the case surrounding convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

She resigned in January after publicly disagreeing with how the administration handled the release of Epstein-related documents.

The rift continued this month with disagreements on foreign policy and foreign aid, following the US’s initial strikes on Iran on February 28. More than four weeks of fighting followed, resulting in a significant spike in oil prices.

‘Americans don’t give a damn about Trump building a WH ballroom or renovating the Kennedy Center as they are paying $4+ dollars per gallon for gas and nearly $6 for diesel because of another pointless foreign war,’ Greene wrote on X Thursday as a result.

‘Don’t lecture your voters that you have to vote for them when you have intentionally failed and betrayed your campaign promises just because the other side is intolerable. Screw you.’

‘You betray Americans, you put Americans last, you deserve to lose, you don’t deserve support. Many Americans are learning to live without the system and want nothing to do with any of it,’ Greene added.

The post immediately racked up more than 500,000 views as well as a response from the White House.

‘There is nothing more “America Last” than quitting on your constituents and the MAGA movement in the middle of your term,’ White House spokesperson David Ingle told Fox News.

‘President Trump is fighting every single day to Make America Great Again – we don’t have time for quitters.’

Greene – who was one of Trump’s earliest and most staunch supporters – resigned right in the midst of a two-year term, months after being re-elected for a second time.

Megyn Kelly, another former pro-Trump firebrand, also turned on the conservative in recent weeks over what she framed as a failure to adhere to the promised ‘America First’ policies that got him elected.

‘My own feeling is no one should have to die for a foreign country. I don’t think those four service members died for the United States,’ the former Fox News star said of Israel on March 8.

She also took aim at an on-air exchange between Maria Bartiromo and Sen. Lindsey Graham where the latter talked up the military strikes in Iran and said Cuba was ‘next.’ Kelly called the latter ‘bloodthirsty’ and criticized Fox for granting him clout.

Netanyahu and Graham, meanwhile, met earlier this year during Graham’s trip to the Middle East to exchange plans for getting Trump onboard with attacking Iran, Graham himself told The Wall Street Journal earlier in the month.

Fox News and other networks, meanwhile, continue to cover the conflict, which has left at least 13 U.S. service members dead and killed 1,500 Iranians, many of them children.

Global oil markets have been battered by Iran’s strategy of barricading the Strait of Hormuz – a small body of water between Iran and Oman through which roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply flows.

Global markets are expected to weaken as the conflict continues.

Trump on Sunday night announced Iran had agreed to allow 20 more oil cargo ships to pass through the strait – a development he called a ‘sign of respect.’

The Daily Mail has approached Fox News for comment.
