WASHINGTON — Ushering in the holiday cheer, Spirit Christmas has already begun its festive journey, with the inaugural store of many opening just last week.

Famous for its ubiquitous pop-up presence each fall, Spirit Halloween delights customers with an extensive array of costumes and eerie decorations. This year, the brand is broadening its holiday reach with a Christmas-themed twist, planning to unveil 30 pop-up stores throughout the Northeastern United States.

Spirit Halloween first hinted at the return of its Christmas-centric outlets back in August.

Recently, the company took to social media to offer a sneak peek inside its flagship store in Mays Landing, New Jersey, featuring a special appearance by Santa Claus himself.

“Spirit Christmas is back and brighter than ever! ✨ Visit our Mays Landing flagship or find your local store at spiritchristmas.com. Let the merry begin,” the caption read. 

The flagship store opened on Oct. 17, and had Santa Claus welcoming guests inside the Christmas-themed store. A spokesperson for the company said that the first 100 guests also had a special discount and received a sweet treat. 

Last year, the decor retailer debuted its first Christmas-themed stores, opening roughly eight stores across the Northeast. The 30 locations this year will span across the Northeast and in the Great Lakes region, according to a press release. 

A Spirit Halloween spokesperson confirmed earlier this month that a few locations will open in late October, while the majority will open in early November. 

Spirt Christmas is already looking towards the holiday season, opening up slots to book photos with Santa Claus at select store locations. The photo experiences will begin on Nov. 21, according to the press release. 

Hours for the Santa Claus photos will be Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
