Bikini-clad spring-breakers fail US citizenship questions in wild video

Are you smarter than a spring-breaker?

Groups of spring breakers dressed in bikinis are facing online ridicule for being unable to answer basic questions from the US citizenship test. One participant humorously claimed Asia shares a border with Canada, while another suggested the Pentagon is a square.

This video, shared by conservative social media figure Kaitlin Bennett over the weekend, has sparked criticism. Detractors argue this highlights the shortcomings of the American educational system and suggest the need to abolish the US Department of Education.

The clip, amassing over 150,000 views within its first two days, features numerous college students in swimwear at Clearwater Beach, Florida, giving incorrect responses about the 2nd Amendment, the nation from which the US declared independence, and whose image appears on the $100 bill.

Asked to name a US state that borders Canada, one dumb-struck student said “Asia” while another said, “I didn’t even know Canada had a border.”

One young woman, who confessed she is majoring in elementary education, suggested the US won independence from Spain during the Revolutionary War, the video shows.

Another confidently said the Civil War was fought between the “East and West” and that the 2nd Amendment is the right to vote.

Others, meanwhile, insisted the Pentagon building was shaped like a square and that there were only seven US senators.

When one was asked how many justices are on the Supreme Court, one girl sought to clarify: “So when you say that, do you mean like the FBI?”

Reactions to the clip, posted on the Liberty Hangout YouTube page, was swift — and unforgiving — on social media.

“I’ve never seen a better video proving why the department of education needed to be abolished,” one person tweeted.

The US Department of Education really did their job, I see,” another wrote on X.

One viewer griped, “Defund the department of education already. This is embarrassing.”

And one user raged that “public education is a dismal failure” — arguing that “every 8th grader should know this and definitely before graduating high school.”
