The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released a video of an attempted kidnapping at a St. Augustine business.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office released a video Tuesday showing an attempted kidnapping at a business in the 1000 SR 206 East in St. Augustine. The video shows a man attempt to shove a woman in a car while she screams and tells him to get off of her. According to police, the woman eventually ran way and was helped by a passerby.
SJSO says the woman was an employee of the business. The man robbed the business and then dragged her inside and tried to push her into his car, SJSO said. Police said the woman escaped and found a nearby citizen who came to help her and called the police. The suspect fled from the scene and was found allegedly driving recklessly near Marineland on A1A.
Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor.
Tundidor discovered by Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission officers, who pursued and captured him.
He was charged by SJSO with kidnapping, robbery, and grand theft auto.
FWC added additional charges for driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
SJSO says the victim said did “everything right,” by screaming, fighting and attempting to attract attention.
