Starbucks plans to open at the corner of Bay and Laura streets, according to Urban Division Jax.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A national coffee chain is set to return to downtown Jacksonville.
Starbucks plans to open at the corner of Bay and Laura streets about 14 years after it initially closed its downtown store.
The Urban Division announced the plans in a social media post that said “the Laura Street corridor is important to the pedestrian experience.”
“Not only does it offer another option for Downtown office users, but it’s an established brand that is universally recognized by locals and people visiting our Downtown,” the post said.
Urban Division shared the news along with a sketch of what a store “could look like” in that location.
The building shown in the post is the Bank of America Tower at 50 N Laura St., which already has a coffee shop, Ground Level Coffee. Urban Grind Coffee also is just about 250 feet away from the location.
Details about when the store might open were not announced yet.
