A dramatic turn of events unfolded early Thursday morning when Christina Black, who had previously accused her ex-husband of making violent threats, discovered what appeared to be a bomb outside their shared residence. However, authorities later confirmed that the device was fake, according to sources relayed to the Daily Mail.

Black’s former spouse, Mark Liverano, is known to law enforcement as a minor associate of the notorious Gambino crime family. His criminal record includes past offenses that paint a troubling picture of his activities and associations.

Back in December, Liverano found himself in legal trouble when the NYPD charged him with aggravated harassment. This stemmed from alleged threats he made to Black, claiming he would use a high-powered rifle to kill her and her children. The ominous phone call, which reportedly took place on the night of December 7, left Black in fear for her and her children’s lives, as documented in a criminal complaint filed in Staten Island.

Just days after this alarming incident, Liverano faced further legal woes. Federal authorities indicted him on a slew of charges, including stalking, extortion, as well as weapon and drug offenses, compounding his already extensive rap sheet.

He was indicted four days later by federal authorities for other alleged crimes including stalking, extortion and weapon and drug charges

Records show that Liverano, 58, is locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, on a 9-count indictment.

However, Black, 40, has accused him of continuing to terrorize her from behind bars, sources say.

Remnants of police tape remained around the home and on the street Thursday morning following the latest alleged threat.

When approached at her home by Daily Mail, Black, who was not wearing a wedding ring, declined to comment.

She called 911 at 4.30am Thursday morning to report finding a ticking package outside the door of her home in Staten Island, New York.

The NYPD bomb squad was dispatched and determined it was a fake.

The investigation is ongoing, a police spokesman told the Daily Mail.

Liverano has a violent history and been incarcerated in the past.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter after shooting father of two, Richard Boeke dead. Boeke, a 37-year-old bouncer was trying to break up a fight outside a bar in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Liverano was paroled in August 2014.

After being released from prison, he briefly dated New York City police officer Nancy Heinz, the Daily News reported back in 2016.

He accused that officer – who was nicknamed the Marilyn Monroe of the NYPD – of trying to get him to kill her ex-husband, the paper reported.

Records show Liverano had been living in recent years with Black, who has also used the surnames Conrad and Russo, in Staten Island. They married in Brooklyn in 2022 and she filed for divorce just three weeks ago on January 23.

He was indicted on December 11 by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of New York. His requests for pretrial release have been denied, court records show.

He is being represented by lawyer Joseph Corozzo Jr, though prosecutors want him removed from the case, describing him in court papers as ‘a fact witness to the defendant’s criminal conduct, who either could be called by the government as a witness at trial or who could impermissibly act as an unsworn witness at trial.’

Corozzo is a well-known mob lawyer, and his late father Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Corozzo was the reputed consigliere of the Gambino crime family.
