New White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller pledged “absolute loyalty” and “unwavering commitment” to President Trump and the nation just hours after taking on the powerful role.
Miller, a combative longtime adviser who first gained prominence by energizing Trump’s rally crowds after joining the campaign in 2015, delivered his remarks Friday night at Mar-a-Lago. Trump had elevated his fiercely loyal enforcer and removed chief of staff Susie Wiles after a Democratic wave in the midterm elections cost Republicans control.
“Let me tell you, if it weren’t for President Trump, the United States of America would not exist right now,” Miller, 41, declared. “This man saved America.
“This man took a bullet for us. He faced the possibility of life in prison for us. He rescued the Republican Party from the ash heap of history and made it stronger, more popular and more resilient than ever before,” he added.

“It is the honor of my life to serve as President Trump’s chief of staff. I swear to you, and I pledge to you, Mr. President, my absolute loyalty, my unwavering commitment and my total devotion to your success and to the success of this country.”
Trump selected the outspoken Miller, a key architect of his immigration crackdown, as the administration prepares to face Democratic control of both the House and Senate.
Democratic lawmakers have promised to challenge the president’s agenda on immigration, the war with Iran and tariffs, while also launching investigations into his administration.
