This morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark featured Kelly Ripa alongside guest co-host Steve Patterson. Patterson, a familiar face to the show’s audience, filled in for Mark Consuelos, expressing his delight at returning to the show by saying, “It’s so great to be back.”

While Ripa didn’t disclose the reason for Consuelos’ absence, she lightheartedly teased her husband and co-host in his absence. Noticing several New York City Marathon participants in the live studio audience, she humorously questioned, “I see a lot of marathoners here. Did any of you see Mark still on the course somewhere?”

Joining in on the fun, Patterson joked, “Yes, has the last person finished yet? My goodness gracious.”

Ripa continued the playful banter by adding, “Yes, the last person dragged himself across the course.”

Ripa added, “Yes, the last person dragged himself across the course.”

DECIDER reached out to Live with Kelly and Mark for more information on when Consuelos will return to the show.

Patterson and Ripa sat down with Rami Malek and Lacey Chabert on Monday morning, and also welcomed Hellen Obiri, who was the winner of this year’s New York City Marathon’s women’s race, which took place on Sunday (Nov. 2).

Viewers were treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Live‘s Halloween show, which spotlighted this year’s top trends—including a spot-on impersonation of Taylor Swift‘s appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast, with the help of Live‘s executive producer, Michael Gelman. Patterson was also part of the fun, as were Live announcer Deja Vu, Jerry O’Connell, and more.
