The water slowly receded at an underpass near East Park Avenue later Sunday night, but at one point during the day, the whole street was flooded.
An ABC7 crew also came across an apartment building right near downtown Elmhurst that had its lobby flooded as well as the parking garage. The company used massive fans in that lobby to dry it out.
Other residents told ABC7 off-camera that they were dealing with flooded yards and basements in some parts of town.
