LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Federal investigators have released a series of six haunting photographs that document the tragic trajectory of Flight 2976, which exploded into flames along a Kentucky airport runway. These images, unveiled on Thursday, offer a stark visual narrative of the catastrophic event.

The sequence begins with a disturbing image of a UPS cargo plane losing an engine during takeoff. The following frames depict the engine detaching from the aircraft, igniting a fiery eruption. As the engine is propelled away, the plane itself is seen engulfed in flames, ascending with a trail of smoke in its wake.

Shortly after these images were captured, the aircraft tragically crashed, resulting in a devastating explosion that claimed the lives of 14 people, including all three crew members. The crash site near Louisville’s airport was left in ruins, with dramatic footage showing the plane engulfed in flames as it collided with nearby structures, generating a vast column of smoke.

These photographs, sourced from airport surveillance, were part of a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board concerning the November 4 disaster. The scenes bear an unsettling resemblance to the infamous images of the Air France Concorde, which met a similar fate shortly after takeoff near Paris in 2000.

The ongoing investigation into the Kentucky crash has so far identified potential evidence of cracks in the left wing’s engine mount. Additional images in the report reveal fragments of the aircraft, as investigators delve deeper into uncovering the cause of this tragic accident.
