In the early hours of Tuesday, a homeowner in Los Angeles opened fire on two individuals suspected of trying to break into his residence, according to law enforcement officials.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. at a property in Studio City. The homeowner discharged several rounds at the duo, as detailed by an LAPD spokesperson to Fox News Digital.
The pair appeared to be in the process of conducting a burglary when the shots were fired.
Following the shooting, the suspects made a hasty escape in a Chevrolet Traverse SUV, as noted by police authorities.

Reports indicate that the incident involved a Los Angeles resident defending his property from what seemed to be a burglary attempt early on Tuesday, as stated by officials.
It was unclear if the suspects were struck or if anything was stolen from the home, police said. The homeowner was not injured and was cooperating with investigators, the LAPD said.
