On Thursday night, Sydney Sweeney captured attention with her extravagant attire during a special holiday edition of Celebrity Family Feud. The actress’s bold fashion choice outshone her answers on the game show.
The festive episode brought together Sweeney and her co-stars from the film Housemaid, including Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, as they faced off against the cast of Real Housewives All-Stars, featuring personalities like Melissa Gorga and Dorinda Medley.
Sweeney made a memorable impression with her outfit: a strapless black dress with bow accents at the bust, layered over a white bra. This was combined with a maroon cardigan and a gray shirt tucked underneath.
She completed her ensemble with a pair of pointy white heels, posing for photos alongside her Housemaid co-stars.
Throughout the episode, Sweeney and her team tackled a series of entertaining holiday-centric questions posed by host Steve Harvey.
But online, fans seemed more distracted by her outfit than the actual game show itself.
‘Sydney Sweeney is on Celebrity Family Feud right now wearing two cardigans and a mini dress with ill fitting bra cups. If anybody was wondering,’ someone wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Another fan chimed in, ‘What the f*** is Sydney Sweeney wearing on Celebrity Family Feud? Hahah.’
‘Missed something on Sydney’s outfit,’ someone else wrote in a comment on YouTube, after a clip was posted on the official Family Feud account.
On Thursday night, actress Sydney Sweeney appeared on a special holiday episode of Celebrity Family Feud – but it was not her answers that turned heads, but rather her elaborate, over-the-top outfit, as she’s seen here with Amanda Seyfried
For Sweeney’s appearance on the show, she chose a strapless black dress with bow detailing at the bust, which she layered on top of a white bra, which itself had been put on top of a maroon-colored cardigan with a gray shirt tucked underneath, seen here with her friends
During the episode, Sweeney and her fellow contestants, like co star Brandon Sklenar, answered many fun, holiday-themed questions asked by host Steve Harvey
Others, however, instead complained that the star-studded lineup of contestants were not following the rules.
‘Amanda and Sydney kept talking to each other before answering – if this wasn’t a celebrity family feud they would have been disqualified,’ one person typed in a comment on YouTube.
Another seconded, ‘Asking each other what to say when it’s your individual turn… can celebrities really not follow the most basic of rules?’
Despite any negative comments on her outfit, Sweeney seemed thrilled to be there.
She posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from recording day on her Instagram page, as she posed with Seyfried.
The Christy star also shared a picture of her smiling from ear-to-ear as she showed off her blue and yellow Family Feud badge.
‘Can you tell how excited I was? Haha,’ Sweeney wrote in text over the story.
Her appearance came just a week after American Eagle unveiled 84-year-old Martha Stewart as their new face of the brand.

Her appearance came just a week after American Eagle unveiled 84-year-old Martha Stewart as their new face of the brand
Stewart is the new face of the brand’s Give GreatCampaign holiday campaign, which aims to highlight the fact that denim is a ‘universal gift that never goes out of style.’
The brand previously landed in some serious hot water after the A-list actress’ ad, ‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,’ was accused of promoting eugenics.Â
The phrase ‘great genes’ is ‘historically used to celebrate whiteness, thinness and attractiveness,’ which it said made ‘this campaign seem to be a tone-deaf marketing move,’ a Salon report on the backlash read.
Since then, the brand has come under fire – but it appears that American Eagle is hoping to change course by hiring Stewart as the face of its holiday campaign.
In a promotional ad posted to her Instagram page on Tuesday morning, the homemaking mogul could be seen standing in an oversized, light-wash denim shirt and skinny jeans as she stood in front of a cabinet with gift-wrapping supplies on it.
‘This holiday season, we’re settling for nothing less than a perfect fit,’ Stewart announced in the clip, as she began to carefully wrap an American Eagle gift box in denim as the wrapping paper.
‘This gift is giving,’ Stewart said at the end, as she showed off the finished product.
‘Giving generously during the holiday season is one of my greatest joys,’ she concluded.Â
