LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Dozens of the best synchronized skating teams from across the country are in Las Vegas competing to qualify for world championships.

Synchronized skating involves a team of skaters who can perform step sequences, spins, lifts, and even jumps with team members. The teams can range from 8 to 20 skaters.

The 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, takes place this week at The Orleans Arena.

There will be 88 teams competing for titles in nine divisions: senior, senior elite 12, junior, collegiate, juvenile, intermediate, novice, adult, and masters. The two junior teams selected to Team USA will be named following the junior free skate on Thursday, Feb. 22 while the two senior teams will be named after the senior free skate on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Tickets are available for the public to watch the competitions. All-event tickets, which include access to all practice and competition segments, can be purchased for $154, and single-day tickets are available for $57 per day. Discounted tickets are available for military, senior citizens, and children ages 12 and younger. Children ages 5 and younger receive free admission. You can find more information at this link.
