It’s no secret that President Donald Trump and pop star Taylor Swift have some bad blood between them.
The US president has once again targeted the 14-time Grammy winner, declaring on Monday morning through Truth Social that Swift is ‘no longer hot.’ This statement adds to his history of bizarre remarks.
This isn’t the first occasion Trump has directed criticism at the singer, and Swift has been outspoken about her views on Trump as well. In the 2020 and 2024 presidential elections, she expressed her support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
But one person who seems keen to avoid all the Trump-related chaos is Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
The Kansas City Chiefs player generally keeps his political views to himself, but he surprised many when he called playing in front of President Trump at the 2025 Super Bowl a ‘great honor.’
His close pal and teammate Patrick Mahomes is also known to be a fan of the president, with his wife Brittany Mahomes liking multiple social media posts in support of Trump’s 2024 re-election campaign.

Trump launched yet another attack on Swift on Monday morning, when he declared Swift as ‘no longer hot’ in a bizarre Truth Social rant
In the wake of Trump’s latest swipe against Swift, a source has revealed to the Daily Mail that the Chiefs tight end has chosen to ‘take the high road’.
But behind the scenes, he’ll be lending a supportive hand to Swift as always.
‘Taylor knows exactly how Travis feels about this situation with Trump and privately they are on the same page,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.
‘He is supporting her with continued love and respect, but publicly Travis is going to let Trump be a sandbag and let it slip by – for now.
‘Sure, it’s frustrating, but he is looking to take the high road, and only express his frustrations to Taylor and their family on how ridiculous the President is being.’
On Monday, the president pitted the singer against actress Sydney Sweeney in the angry post shared to his Truth Social platform.
Sweeney has been under fire for days after appearing in an advert for denim brand American Eagle.
Sweeney’s pun on the words ‘jeans’ and ‘genes’ has been met with a woke backlash and even ugly claims of ‘racism’, and has seen her political past raked over – with it emerging that she’s been a registered Republican since last June.
Trump welcomed the news.
‘Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the “HOTTEST” ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are “flying off the shelves.” Go get ’em Sydney!’ the president wrote.
But elsewhere in his lengthy post, Trump turned his attention to Swift.
‘Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT,’ Trump said.
‘The tide has seriously turned – Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be,’ Trump added.
He ended the post with his trademark: ‘Thank you for your attention to this matter!’
Swift’s apparent attractiveness has been something of a fixation for the president in recent months.
In May, he posted: ‘Has anyone noticed that, since I said “I hate Taylor Swift,” she’s no longer “HOT?”‘
After Swift publicly endorsed Harris in the 2024 election back in September, Trump posted ‘I hate Taylor Swift’.

It hasn’t all been quiet on Swift’s front.
In a 2019 interview with The Guardian, the billionaire pop star revealed she had supported Hillary Clinton over Trump in the 2016 election.
Swift also accused Trump of treating the presidency like ‘an autocracy.’
Then, at the peak of the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, Swift took to Twitter to accuse Trump of ‘stoking’ racism.
‘After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?’ Swift wrote.
‘”When the looting starts the shooting starts”??? We will vote you out in November.’
But when it comes to Trump’s latest escalation in this long-running war of words, Swift’s boyfriend of three years won’t be rushing to her defense.
‘Travis doesn’t want to extend the conversation and give it any substance,’ our insider said.
‘He also appreciates how much of a strong woman Taylor is, and if anyone is going to say anything about it, he’d like her to sound off on it if need be.’
With the NFL pre-season beginning later this month, Kelce also has the feelings and political affiliations of his teammates to consider.
‘The owners of the Chiefs and some of his teammates – along with Patrick and his wife – are Trump supporters, so he just doesn’t want to make it more of a thing than it needs to be, especially with the season right around the corner,’ the source said.
In addition to Brittany Mahomes’s public support for Trump, the billionaire family of Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt has reportedly donated approximately $900,000 to almost exclusively conservative candidates and committees over the last decade.
That said, there have been no reported contributions from the Hunt family to any presidential campaign since 2015.
Following Trump’s attendance at the 2025 Super Bowl, where the Chiefs faced off against the ultimately victorious Philadelphia Eagles, Hunt said the team were ‘very honored’ to receive an invitation to the White House.
Among Kelce’s teammates, kicker Harrison Butker is perhaps the most vocal supporter of Trump.

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was one of several athletes at the White House last week as Trump signed an executive order to reestablish the Presidential Fitness Test
Just last week, Butker was one of several athletes invited to the White House by Trump for an executive order signing that reestablished the Presidential Fitness Test – an initiative to promote young Americans staying active and healthy – in schools.
During his speech, Trump praised Butker as ‘the best in the business’, before he added, ‘You’re a handsome guy, by the way. It’s usually not my thing, but he is a good looking sucker.’
But while some of Kelce’s teammates may support the MAGA cause, certain members of Kelce’s tight-knit family – most notably, his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce – take a rather different approach.
The 33-year-old mother of four, who is married to Kelce’s older brother Jason, revealed to the New York Times last year that her political beliefs ‘aggressively lean’ left.
And in March, she accomplished her dream by having former Democratic First Lady Michelle Obama appear as a guest on her podcast Not Gonna Lie, which beat out Trump-supporter Joe Rogan as the top-ranked show in the US following its debut last December.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Swift and Kelce for comment.
