Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce will have the chance to ‘connect more’ after Super Bowl 2025 which will take place later this week on Sunday, February 9. 

The Grammy winner, 35, is slated to attend the big game in New Orleans to support the tight end, also 35, as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles. 

Kelce’s father Ed briefly opened up about his son’s relationship with the Bad Blood songstress during an interview with Australia’s Today on Thursday. 

‘I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good time for the two of them without the NFL season, without the Eras tour, just them alone really connecting more.’ 

Ed – who is also father to Jason Kelce – further added, ‘I think that can only be a good thing.’ 

He also gushed about the performer and told the media outlet that Swift is a ‘joy to be around.’

‘She’s learning much more about football. She’s watching football with her dad a lot. She’s watching football whenever she can.’ 

The singer began making appearances at the NFL games to cheer on Travis beginning in September 2023.  

The star also attended last year’s Super Bowl where she celebrated the Chiefs’ win against the San Francisco 49ers. It also became the most-watched Super Bowl of all time, with a whopping 123.4 million viewers tuning in. 

Kendrick Lamar will perform during the halftime show on Sunday, and Ed shared his response when questioned if there is a possibility of Taylor joining the rapper on stage. 

‘I have no idea. I haven’t talked to Taylor this week. I have no idea what her plans are. I would let her publicist talk to you about that,’ he expressed. 

Ed Kelce also offered his own response in regards to if his son Travis and Taylor have a potential wedding date set for the future. 

‘Did you really think I was going to come up with that?’ he humorously answered when the topic was brought up. 

It comes not long after Taylor’s reaction to her boyfriend’s recent comments about Donald Trump was revealed. The professional football player said it was an ‘honor’ to have the U.S. president attend the upcoming game – leaving some fans raging.

However, a source told DailyMail.com that Swift is ‘not angry’ over Kelce’s comments – after Trump had stated that he ‘hates’ the singer late last year when she endorsed Kamala Harris. 

‘Taylor is not angry at Travis for what he said. Although Travis’s quote was taken as he supports Trump, this is not what Travis said at all. He never actually even said the word Trump.’

‘Travis was speaking on behalf of his entire team and all of his fans when he said it is an honor to have the President of the United States at the game and he would have said the same thing regardless of who the president was.’

The insider added, ‘So no, there is no fight, no argument and no blowout over this. Taylor is just so proud of Travis and cannot wait to be there to support him.’ 

‘Cheering him on has become so exciting for her. Taylor is Travis’s biggest cheerleader.’ 

A separate source stated that Swift is reportedly ‘concerned’ she will steal Kelce’s limelight during the Super Bowl on Sunday amid Trump’s planned attendance. 

An insider told The Sun, ‘Taylor doesn’t want to be the center of attention. She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game.’ 

‘She wants Travis to enjoy his Super Bowl week experience and be at 110% for Sunday, as she is dreaming about him making Super Bowl history and reaching another dream of his, winning another Super Bowl and making a three-peat.’

‘He loves that she is super supportive, and he is the same with her, as they got each other’s back whatever happens,’ the source continued. 

It comes not long after Taylor’s reaction to her boyfriend’s recent comments about Donald Trump was revealed; Swift seen over the past weekend on Sunday in L.A. 

‘Taylor is not angry at Travis for what he said. Although Travis’s quote was taken as he supports Trump, this is not what Travis said at all. He never actually even said the word Trump,’ the insider said; seen earlier this month 

‘They know when to step back for each other so they can focus and be fully prepared. Their understanding of what each other needs is fantastic.’

This comes after Travis said he felt inspired during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. 

The sports star is currently preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles at the Super Bowl on Sunday, and Travis has admitted to taking inspiration from Taylor and her record-breaking tour.

The Kansas City Chiefs star said during a pre-game press conference: ‘What I saw on that tour last year was pretty remarkable.’

‘To see the week-in, week-out travelling from one country to the next and how excruciating it is on her body and on her mind – and it’s not just her. It was her entire tour. It was an absolute machine and it was something I could admire watching.’

Travis – who began dating Taylor in 2023 – has being focusing on his diet ahead of the Super Bowl.

He said: ‘I’ve been eating clean. I haven’t been drinking as much, a little lower on the pounds this week. So, hopefully I can run away from some Eagles out there.’

Meanwhile, an insider recently claimed that Travis ‘is not ready to retire’ from the NFL.

The source told DailyMail.com: ‘When it comes to his success in acting and podcasting and seeing the opportunities his brother [Jason] has had after his retirement, Travis is not ready to retire himself.’

The outcome of the Super Bowl won’t have any bearing on Travis’ future.

The insider shared: ‘Whether the Chiefs win or lose, he would want to either go for the four-peat or avenge losing in the Super Bowl and would love to try to get back there.

‘He understands he is in good shape professionally and personally when he retires, but as he gets asked about in the next two weeks, he wants to stay in the league. He still believes he has more to give.

‘Ask the same question next year, then we might have a conversation, but right now all his intentions are to stay with the Chiefs and play in the NFL next season whether they win or lose the Super Bowl.’
