Here’s what we know so far about the Grammy-winning singer’s latest project.

NEW YORK — Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter made the announcement early Tuesday in a short clip from her upcoming appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason, on a new episode that will premiere Wednesday. In the clip, Swift pulls the new album — with the cover blurred — from a box and reveals it to the hosts.

The album will be available for pre-order on Swift’s website. A special limited vinyl edition of the album will be released in “portofino orange glitter,” according to a pre-order page.

The release date was not shared in the short clip, but the website says vinyl, CD and cassette pre-orders will ship before Oct. 13.

Rumors quickly swelled Monday that news was coming after cryptic social media posts from her marketing team that heavily featured the color orange, which fans had long speculated was associated with the rumored newest album. A countdown with an orange glitter background was added to her website, counting down the seconds to 12:12 a.m. on August 12.

Swift’s last studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released in April 2024 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The double album broke multiple streaming records and spent 15 weeks atop the chart.

Tuesday’s announcement comes after Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour wrapped up in December 2024. The tour became the highest-grossing concert tour by a female artist in history, with ticket sales exceeding $1 billion. The tour celebrated Swift’s entire discography, spanning from her 2006 self-titled debut through “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was released a year into the Eras Tour and was later added to the concert set list.

Swift’s studio album catalog includes “Taylor Swift” (2006), “Fearless” (2008), “Speak Now” (2010), “Red” (2012), “1989” (2014), “Reputation” (2017), “Lover” (2019), “Folklore” (2020), “Evermore” (2020), “Midnights” (2022) and “The Tortured Poets Department” (2024).

She has also released four re-recorded “Taylor’s Version” albums prior to regaining ownership of her master recordings. In May, Swift announced she was once again the owner of her entire music catalog, including her masters, music videos, concert films, album art, photography and unreleased songs. The deal, made with Shamrock Capital, marked the end of a years-long battle over the rights to many of her early albums.

The 35-year-old artist has won 14 Grammy Awards throughout her career, including four for Album of the Year, making her the most awarded artist in that category.
