Taylor Swift Channels Hollywood Glamour: Wedding Dress Inspired by Iconic Elizabeth Taylor

Taylor Swift is set to embrace a touch of vintage elegance for her upcoming June wedding to football star Travis Kelce. Her bridal gown will draw inspiration from a classic style worn by Elizabeth Taylor during her marriage to Conrad Hilton, Paris Hilton’s great uncle, back in 1950.

The pop sensation has long admired the late actress, having paid tribute to her with a song on her recent album, “The Life Of A Showgirl.” Swift’s admiration for Elizabeth Taylor’s timeless glamour became evident while she crafted the music video for the track.

“Taylor spent considerable time poring over vintage photos of Elizabeth Taylor while working on the music video, which sparked her fascination with the legendary actress’s fashion sense,” a source revealed to The Daily Mail.

With her wedding day on the horizon, Swift turned to the internet to explore Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic gowns, finding inspiration for her own special day.

‘So when she started thinking about her wedding dress, she looked up Elizabeth’s old gowns online.’

Swift was taken by the Giant star’s 1950 gown because it was ‘so flattering,’ said the source.

‘Taylor said she liked how it was old fashioned and came in at the waistline, plus the lace detailing,’ it was also shared.

The source did not know the name of the fashion designer working on the dress – it has been speculated she may go with Sarah Burton (formerly Alexander McQueen) or Vivienne Westwood – but did say that it was not Oscar de la Renta. 

Conrad Hilton Jr, whose nickname was Nicky, is the late great-uncle of Paris Hilton.

Hilton and Taylor were married on May 6, 1950, when Taylor was 18. Their lavish wedding was a major media event as it was also a promotion for Taylor’s film Father Of The Bride. The difficult marriage lasted only eight months, ending in divorce in 1951.

Nicky Hilton Jr was the son of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton, making him Paris Hilton’s grandfather’s brother.

Taylor was married eight times to seven different men between 1950 and 1996.  In addition to Hilton, her husbands included Michael Wilding, Mike Todd, Eddie Fisher, Richard Burton (twice), John Warner and Larry Fortensky. 

The source also hinted that Swift might borrow a piece of the movie icon’s jewelry for her big day.

‘She loves Elizabeth’s jewels so she may just wear one of her pieces, something on the smaller side for when she walks down the aisle, but she would need to ask Taylor’s estate,’ said the insider.

Considering how happy the Elizabeth Taylor estate was with Swift’s song and video about the icon, it is likely they would say yes. 

Swift’s wedding band will probably be from Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, who made her engagement ring when Kelce proposed in August 2025, though recently the singer has been wearing jewelry from Audry Rose.

The pop star and the football player, who are both 36 years old, will say ‘I do’ on June 13 in Rhode Island, it has been reported.

With the date and location locked in, the crooner is focusing on the guest list, menu, flowers, the towering cake and her wedding gown, according to a March UsWeekly cover story.

The site added that they are expecting 150 guests. ‘It won’t be a huge wedding, but there will be many celebrities,’ said the source to the site.

Swift’s celebrity pals include Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone and Zoë Kravitz. Kelce’s best friends are his brother Jason Kelce, teammate Patrick Mahomes and Hollywood actor Miles Teller.

The wedding will reportedly take place at her $18 million Rhode Island mansion which has a view of the ocean and generous adjacent lawns.

‘They feel confident hosting it there. The entire area will be very private and guarded,’ said the insider.

And there will be some spillover at the Ocean House, a five-star seaside resort nearby, it was claimed.

‘The guest list grew, so the ceremony and private gatherings associated with the wedding [will be split between the venues],’ said a second source.

But that could be changed at the last minute, the outlet allowed: ‘Taylor always has a plan B and C for every scenario.’

Neither Swift nor Kelce wanted a huge wedding. ‘They’ve gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,’ said a second source. ‘As of now, they’ve scaled it down. It’s no longer going to be a massive blowout.’ 

The wedding will be traditional ‘with Taylor’s dad walking her down the aisle and all the classic touches, like the father-daughter and mother-son dances,’ said the second source.

And there is no bridezilla among the pair who are talking about white flowers, gold wedding bands and a traditional 1950s style wedding cake.

‘They’re both involved and making decisions together,’ a source told the site.

The lovebirds have been ‘focused on actually enjoying the process rather than getting caught up in the pressure.’

The insider added, ‘They’re keeping things light’ as they prepare without any pressing work obligations in front of them.

The honeymoon will take place soon after the wedding and might be in the Caribbean, the site also alleged.

They don’t have long to hang out on the beach, however, as in late July Kelce has to go to football training camp.

They announced their engagement in August with a joint Instagram post that read, ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’

He presented Swift with a custom-designed old mine-cut diamond engagement ring in his backyard in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

After they wed, Swift will return to work.

‘She does have another record in the works,’ said the first source, ‘but there’s no pressure to release it anytime soon. It’s still very much in the creative stages.’ 

And there are no plans for a Life of a Showgirl tour. ‘She never meant to do a massive tour attached to it,’ said the insider.

‘Taylor’s priority right now is her personal life. She and Travis are saving all their energy for the big summer they have coming up,’ it was added.
