Taylor Swift is not leaving her showgirl era behind just yet. She remains immersed in a world of glitter, fringe, shimmer and unapologetic glamour.
Fewer than 24 hours after teasing a new single titled “Patient Zero,” Swift revealed on social media that the track will appear on “The Encore,” a deluxe edition of “The Life of a Showgirl” featuring four songs in total.
To unveil the release, Swift shared a previously unseen image by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. In the striking shot, she dances before a fuchsia curtain in a micro-mini gold fringe dress by Nicolas Jebran, finished with metallic mesh Rene Caovilla heels priced at $2,050.
The dazzling dress reflects light from every angle, thanks to fringe crafted from individual pieces of gold and silver chainmail.
The glamorous image offers a sharp contrast to the three photographs Swift posted to introduce “Patient Zero,” in which the Grammy winner appears in dramatic black-and-silver ensembles.

The rest of the “The Life of a Showgirl” photoshoot embraced the same over-the-top sparkle, incorporating feathers, crystals and vintage Bob Mackie designs with a distinctly Las Vegas flair.
“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history,” Swift wrote in her Wednesday announcement.
She continued, “We wrote more songs. I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made.”
The four new tracks—“Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding,” “Babylon” and “Patient Zero”—arrive Friday.
