Taylor Swift fans convinced themselves that the pop star was pregnant this week thanks to an optical illusion.

The rumor mill went into overdrive after the 35-year-old stepped out in New York with what appeared to be a pregnant belly on display.

‘She’s eight months pregnant,’ wrote one fan on X, while another posted, ‘Taylor appears pregnant in New York!’

With a closer look, it was evident that Swift’s black mini-dress seemed to merge with a black car in the background, creating the illusion of a sizable baby bump.

The confusion arose as an insider shared with the Daily Mail that Swift’s former best friend Blake Lively has been unable to reach the singer despite sending numerous texts, calls, and emails.

Swift is said to have iced out her pal of ten years, due to feeling ‘betrayed’ and ‘exploited’ by Lively, 37. 

The source disclosed, ‘She has been attempting to reconnect with Taylor through various means, such as texts, voicemails, and emails, in an effort to repair their relationship. Blake is determined to restore their friendship.’

‘Taylor hasn’t responded to any of Blake’s pleas. She’s ignored all her groveling excuses. The missives explain there must be some misunderstanding on Taylor’s part and that she would never do anything to harm their ten years of closeness and personal secrets.’

A number of users found Swift’s pregnancy illusion hilarious, with one commenting, ‘I thought Travis Kelce was becoming a dad for a sec.’

Swift, 35, and Gomez, 32, were spotted at Monkey Bar in Manhattan on Saturday, while Kelce was in Kansas City for the Big Slick charity event.

While the 35-year-old Kelce wasn’t present for the outing, Swift was clearly thinking about him, choosing to wear a sweet gift from the Kansas City Chiefs star. 

The pop icon was spotted wearing a custom Wove x Michelle Wie West gold and diamond tennis friendship bracelet with the letters “TNT” during the outing (via TMZ).

The outing also came just days after Swift successfully purchased her own music catalogue, for a sum reported to be $360 million by some and anywhere between $600 million and $1 billion by others. 

Swift was seen wearing a black minidress with silver platform heels, diamond strand earrings and carrying a black handbag.

Gomez was spotted a sleeveless brown top tucked into matching brown pants with a brown jacket and brown pointed-toe heels for the outing.

It’s unclear what the besties discussed on the outing, whether it was Swift’s successful music buyback or her relationship with Kelce. 

Taylor and Travis haven’t been out much since he played in the Super Bowl back in February. 

The couple, who have been together since the summer of 2023, have recently been at the center of gossip that they’re planning to get married and start a family – and former athletes Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski have shared their thoughts on the pair’s future.

Julian, 38, said in the ‘Dudes on Dudes’ podcast about the possibility of Taylor and Travis having their first child: ‘That would be a great kid.’

Rob, 35, added: ‘The kid would be performing – having eight catches a game and then doing the halftime show.’ 

In March 2024, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Harrison Butker told EWTN News in Depth he hoped the couple would ‘get married and start a family’.
