KANSAS CITY, Mo. Production for the fourth season of “Ted Lasso” is currently underway in Kansas City.

On Monday, in a post on X, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared a first look at “Ted Lasso” season four and teased the show’s Kansas City filming kickoff on social media.

The new image came with the announcement that production has officially begun.

The photo shows Jason Sudeikis seated at a restaurant alongside Leslie Higgins (Jeremy Swift), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple).

Some Kansas Citians have spotted production trucks outside of Gates BBQ in Midtown, leading to speculation that filming is happening inside.

Apple TV also shared the following video on X:

Beatrice Hooker, a supervisor at Gates Bar-B-Q on Linwood and Main, in Kansas City Missouri says Kansas City’s BBQ scene was featured Sunday.

“And that’s what happened, they came here with the production, and they enjoyed the BBQ with the scene,” Hooker said. “I couldn’t even sleep.”

Excited, she says, and possibly featured too.

“I was the little waitress lady that walks around and touched the tables and talked to the people,” Hooker said. “It was fun.”

Whether in Kansas City, or other parts of the metro, some are eager for what filming is still to come.

“Something to take us out of our little niche of the world for a while,” Mary Culbertson, a Blue Springs resident said Monday.

Culbertson was one of many, who received a letter stating production would be happening near their homes soon.

The letter reads, filming of this production may include: Temporary road closures, intermittent traffic interruptions, parked production crew vehicles, alterations to the neighborhood, lighting set-ups, along with costumed cast and props.

“Be careful of the property. Stay back and don’t disrupt their work, because that’s their job, and enjoy what you can,” Culbertson said on advice if you spot a film crew working. “See who you can see and stay out of their way.”

Production is beginning a few weeks after some Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit residents got a letter informing them that the show will be filming in the area in July. The letter stated that Warner Bros. had filed special use permits in both areas for the filming.

Blue Springs police will be assisting with traffic in areas slated for filming.

The award-winning television series stars Sudeikis, an Overland Park native, and airs on Apple TV+.
