A teen YouTube star’s makeup launch at a New Jersey mall descended into chaos on Saturday as hundreds of young attendees overran the shopping center.

Crowds of young fans and their parents gathered at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford for the launch of teen social media influencer Salish Matter’s new makeup collection, Sincerely Yours.

Visitors took to TikTok and Instagram to share footage of the scene, which some said became out of control.

‘Super unorganized, severely crowded,’ one said in a clip of the event, noting that they bought ‘tickets for absolutely nothing… never again.’

Another said: ‘I was getting pushed around so much and I couldn’t see the stage it was so unorganized and they should’ve had a limit on people.’

Frustrated attendees expressed their disappointment after missing the chance to see the 15-year-old Matter in person, while others mentioned she appeared for only about 30 minutes.

Parents reported arriving as early as 3 am to be among the first in line, as event promotions promised that the first 100 attendees would win ‘either a meet and greet with Salish herself or a limited edition Sincerely Yours sweatshirt.’

But some said the line turned into a throng of people as late attendees grouped together, with the crowds getting so large they spilled out into a parking lot.

Daily Mail has contacted the American Dream Mall for comment.

After the event became overwhelmed with people, some said they couldn’t catch a glimpse of the teen star and others said people were struggling with heat inside the packed mall.

‘People were passing out left and right,’ one TikTok commenter said.

‘I was there and a kid was crying because it was too hot,’ another said.

Another commented that they saw ‘people fainting and leaving on stretchers,’ although no footage of people being taken away by first responders has emerged.

At one stage during the event, the staggering number of people on multiple levels of the mall caused organizers to step in as they ordered children and their parents to step away from the ledges.

‘Get away from the glass!’ one could be heard yelling from on stage. ‘It’s all for your safety guys, we do not want this to get shut down.

A promotion for the event described it as a ‘one day only pop-up’ that would feature ‘interactive experiences, samples of the skincare products, giveaways, and exclusive limited edition merchandise.’

It is unclear how much tickets to the event sold for, but many said afterwards that they wouldn’t have needed to buy them as others showed up mall for free.

The event was scheduled to begin at 10am and continue until 6pm, but some claimed Matter only appeared for a short time alongside her famous photographer father Jordan Matter.

One frustrated mother wrote on social media that she took her daughters to the event but did not get to see the teen star, despite being ‘right next to the pop up shop.’

‘A worker at 10am told me after 45 minutes she’d be at the pop up shop and to stay there. But at 11:30am someone came around saying she wouldn’t make any more appearances because of the crowd.’

While many said they felt let down by the event, others said they enjoyed the  appearance and were amazed by the mass of supporters she was able to pull in.
