The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says one of the two intimidated the victim with a firearm.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Warning: This story includes descriptions of sexual assault.
Two teenagers have been arrested in Marion County, accused of raping a juvenile victim on Dec. 28. Police say Jordan Audit, 17, and Austin Littleton, 18, raped the victim under threat of shooting her and then tried to stop her from leaving by following her car and cutting her off in the road.
They are both charged with sexual battery involving physical force.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the victim met the two at a party. According to police records, the suspects had been in a fight early that night, and during the fight she “head multiple gunshots,” and then Audit approached and told her they had a gun.
According to MCSO, Audit forced her to come with them to Littleton’s camper in Ocklawaha, where he raped her, “utilizing the fear of his firearm to force her to comply.”
Audit and Littleton are accused of taking turns raping her while the other held her down, MCSO said.
The victim escaped and got into her car, which is when Audit and Littleton followed her car and cut her off, forcing her to stop, according to MCSO. Police said the victim’s “screaming as they approached her vehicle” made them leave her alone.
The victim reported the incident to Lake County Sheriff’s Office. She was able to use the Life360 phone app to provide approximate locations for the party she was at, which led deputies to Marion County. The case was then taken over by Marion County.
Detective Joseph Miller with MCSO interviewed both suspects, who denied the crimes. However, MCSO said a rape kit and digital evidence corroborated the victim’s account of what happened. As well, Miller found that the injuries on the two teenagers matched the effects of the victim’s resistance.
Audit and Littleton were arrested Monday. Audit was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice and Littleton is being held at the Marion County Jail without bond.
