EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) A wanted fugitive out of Conroe, Texas, who allegedly killed a person at a Taco Cabana drive-through in 2006 is believed to have fled to Mexico, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Glen Homes Jr., 41, is accused in a capital murder in May 2006 in Conroe, Texas, and ended up cutting his ankle monitor a few years later and fled, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office believes Holmes could be living in Mexico or near the U.S.-Mexico border.

In May 2006, Holmes allegedly shot and killed Barry Thomas at the Taco Cabana drive-thru on South Loop 336 and stole Thomas’ vehicle.

Holmes then led law enforcement on a high-speed chase and he was able to escape authorities for nearly three weeks through Montgomery, Harris, and Walker Counties. The Conroe Police Department then received information that Holmes was near an apartment complex in Houston and was arrested 17 days later by several law enforcement agencies.

Holmes was booked on a capital murder charge and posted bond in August 2006. He was then arrested again later in the year possibly for violating his parole, but was able to post bond and be released again, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Holmes cut off his ankle monitor in 2008, didn’t show up for his trial, and fled, the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office said. Holmes hasn’t been seen since and is considered armed and dangerous. He currently has an active warrant for capital murder bond forfeiture.

Holmes is 5-foot-4, weighs around 170 to 180 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He has a small tattoo on the right side of his neck that reads “Patricia.”

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Holmes’ arrest and tipsters can remain anonymous.

Those who have any information on Holmes’ current whereabouts can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867).
