An individual with a history of multiple offenses, accumulating a total of 37 felony theft charges, was apprehended after reportedly evading capture for several months. This individual has now been released on bond.

Identified as Dequavia Denise Rogers, she was taken into custody on March 13. At the time of her arrest, she faced 11 felony charges as she was processed into the Harris County Jail located in Houston, Texas, according to official jail documentation.

The new charges against her include several instances of theft valued at less than $2,500, one instance of theft exceeding $2,500, along with another theft-related charge.

As reported by FOX 26, Rogers has been implicated in 37 felony theft cases, with the majority of these charges being filed over the previous year.

While Rogers was on the run for months, the outlet reported, Judge Nata Cornelio set bond at $75,000, allowing Rogers to be released from jail. Jail records indicate Rogers has been released.

Rogers, 31, was also on parole for a separate offense when she was arrested and booked into jail March 13.

Andy Kahan, director of victim services and advocacy for Crime Stoppers of Houston, said there needs to be more consequences for habitual offenders like Rogers.

“You have to have consequences for habitual thieves,” Kahan said, according to FOX 26. “It’s not happening in Rogers’ case.

“While on parole, she picks up four felony theft charges. Same thing, stealing beauty products.”

In September 2025 alone, Rogers was charged four separate times with theft.
