LUBBOCK, Texas– Alejandro Montoya, 23, Elijha Elizondo, 21 and one other suspect were arrested early Wednesday morning on charges of Aggravated Robbery at a South Lubbock McDonald’s.
Early on Wednesday, Lubbock police were called to the McDonald’s located at 2433 S. Loop 289 to respond to a robbery in progress. Officers observed a vehicle driven by Montoya trying to flee the scene westbound. The vehicle then turned south, then east, prompting an officer to initiate a traffic stop.
According to court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, McDonald’s employees advised officers that while the suspects were in the drive-through, Montoya flashed his weapon at an employee and demanded drinks, reached into the window and grabbed nuggets and ranch.
Officers say the property stolen was found in the front driver and passenger seats and the rear seat. A rifle was also found in the vehicle that was in Montoya’s possession, which was eventually deemed stolen by officers. Montoya was also found to have two outstanding warrants.
A brown leafy substance was also found on Elizondo, which he explained to officers was mushrooms.
All three parties involved were transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center without incident.
