3 people shot after 'active shooter' incident in Georgia, deputies say

The crime scene has been secured by law enforcement and there is no ongoing threat to the community, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — Three people were injured in a shooting in Camden County Wednesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to an “active shooter” incident around 4:21 p.m. near the intersection of Kinlaw Road and Harrietts Bluff Road.

Three people were found shot and taken to the hospital for treatment. The conditions of the victims are not available at this time, officials said.

The crime scene has been secured by law enforcement and there is no ongoing threat to the community, the sheriff’s office said.

It’s unclear whether a suspect is in police custody at this time.

“We understand the concern this incident has caused in our community,” said Camden County Sheriff, Kevin Chaney. “Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

Residents are urged to avoid the area.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the shooting.
