Tiger Woods allegedly used four fierce words to shut down skeptics of his relationship with Vanessa Trump.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the friends of the golf legend advised him against dating the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr. due to her association with President Trump’s political circle.
A source told the outlet that Woods’ close friends voiced their “concerns” that his relationship with Vanessa would be bad for his public image.
But the athlete bluntly shut down their worries, telling them, “F–k what people think.”
A source mentioned that Tiger Woods has never been overtly political in public. Although he holds his own beliefs and viewpoints, he typically does not display his political stance openly. Being romantically involved with someone from a political family could imply taking a side, a move that could potentially compromise his neutral image.
Woods, who has been acquainted with Donald for years, understood the implications but reportedly “didn’t care one bit.”
Despite the warnings, an insider revealed that Tiger Woods is not one to be easily swayed into doing something against his will. The decision to go public with the relationship was significant to him, and any objections raised by others are considered their own issue, not his.
The source further explained that Woods doesn’t think of his relationship with Vanessa as anything political.
“She’s his girlfriend who happens to have the Trump last name,” the insider said.
While Woods’ friends had their apprehensions, Woods reportedly had his family’s full support.
“The kids understood and were happy, and still are happy,” the source said. “It was more people thinking about his professional brand who worried about what would happen when the news came out.”
Woods shares two children — Sam, 17, and Charlie, 16 — with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, who dumped him in 2009 after he cheated on her with multiple women. They divorced the next year after six years of marriage.
Vanessa and Don Jr., who were married from 2005 to 2018, share five children: sons Donald III, 16, Tristan, 13, and Spencer, 12, and daughters Kai, 17, and Chloe, 10.
News of Woods’ relationship with Vanessa broke in March — nearly five months after the pair reportedly started dating.
The duo apparently began as friends before things became romantic.
While they attempted to keep their private life out of the spotlight, Woods confirmed their relationship in a sweet post to X in March.
“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!” he captioned a photo of himself showing PDA with Vanessa.
“We look forward to our journey through life together,” he added. “At this time we would appreciate privacy to all those close to our hearts.”
