Tom Cruise has shared what he and Taylor Swift discussed while watching Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.
The 64-year-old movie star was seated beside the 36-year-old pop sensation in her VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for the Chiefs’ opening game of the NFL season.
Cruise later revealed the pair’s conversation as they cheered on Swift’s husband, Kelce, 36, during the Chiefs’ 31-10 home victory over the Denver Broncos.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, the actor was asked about attending the game and offered a glimpse into his friendship with Swift.
Fallon asked Cruise: ‘When the biggest movie star in the world is sitting next to the biggest artist in the world, what do you talk about?’
The Top Gun star said Swift, whom he described as a “genius” and “brilliant,” “schooled” him on football. They also spoke about their respective industries.

“She was schooling me on football,” he said during the late-night interview.
“For real?” Fallon asked, with Cruise confirming: “For real.”
Cruise continued to heap praise on Swift and also gushed about her friends and in-laws, ‘everybody’ else in the suite.
‘She was bringing the football,’ he said while reflecting on the football game from the night before.
‘First of all, she’s a genius. I’ve been following her since she was a kid,’ he added.
‘Everybody there, all their friends, they’re a beautiful couple and magical in their own right,’ he said about Swift and Kelce. ‘Everybody there in that booth.’
‘I hadn’t been to a football game since pre-COVID, where I was working and everything. So to get to hang out there and have that moment, it was a lot of fun,’ Cruise said. ‘She knows her stuff.’

On the late night talk show, Cruise and Fallon also mentioned how Swift did not know much about football prior to meeting Kelce.

Cruise recalled the instance of Swift telling him the story.
‘She said, “You know, he’s so patient.” I said, “I’m sure he was.” I think everybody would be very patient [with her].’
‘[Now] she knows [about football] … she’s just bringing it,’ Cruise added before telling Fallon that their conversation at the game also included a discussion about music and movies.
‘She’s funny. She’s got such a great sense of humor. A brilliant writer also, by the way. Brilliant musician and director. Very skilled.’
Cruise was also one of the many A-list stars in attendance at Swift and Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
