Recent images of actor Tommy Lee Jones have emerged, marking his first public appearance since the devastating loss of his daughter. The 34-year-old Victoria Jones tragically passed away, and the circumstances surrounding her death have prompted those close to the family to speak out.

Victoria was discovered unresponsive on the floor of San Francisco’s upscale Fairmont Hotel by another guest in the early hours of New Year’s Day. While the official cause of death remains undisclosed, reports suggest a possible overdose, with past allegations of cocaine and alcohol abuse.

The Daily Mail has released new photos and videos showing the 79-year-old actor looking noticeably frail. In San Antonio, Texas, he was seen relying heavily on the support of his third wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, as he limped along.

An insider, commenting on his somber and unsteady appearance, remarked, “He is not himself right now,” referring to the renowned Men In Black actor.

“Tommy is heartbroken. For someone known for his tough exterior and composure, the loss of his child has been an overwhelming blow,” the source added, highlighting the profound impact of this tragedy on Jones.

Emergency services were called to the Fairmont hotel at approximately 2.52 am on January 1, but attempts to revive Victoria were unsuccessful. 

Victoria had been at the hotel to ring in the new year with a small group of pals when, as one source claimed to TMZ, she started using cocaine. 

Law enforcement sources told the Daily Mail that her lips and fingernails appeared bluish when first responders arrived.

There were no immediate signs of foul play, no visible trauma to her body and no drug paraphernalia discovered nearby, the sources added. An autopsy is expected to provide further clarity.

On January 2, Tommy and his family released a brief statement, which read: ‘We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.’

In addition to Victoria, Tommy and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, share 43-year-old son Austin Leonard Jones.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Tommy for comment.

In the days since Victoria’s death, troubling details about her final months have begun to emerge, including run-ins with police.

She was arrested twice last year. The first time in April 2025 after Napa Valley cops conducted a wellness check and charged her with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. 

Court documents say a plastic bag with a white substance — believed to be cocaine — was located in her pocket when she was booked.

She pleaded not guilty and had been scheduled to appear in court later this month.

In June, she was arrested again following a domestic violence incident at Napa’s Carneros Resort and Spa, where rooms start at around $500 per night. 

Separate court filings reviewed by the Mail also indicated that Victoria had been accused of elder abuse. She pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.

Victoria was found dead on the 14th floor of the Fairmont San Francisco after a hotel guest reportedly mistook her for being intoxicated and alerted staff.

When employees arrived and found her unresponsive, they began CPR and called paramedics.

In a 911 call, the incident was described as a ‘code 3 for the overdose, color change’.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department confirmed: ‘On 1/1/26 at approximately 3.14 am, San Francisco Police officers responded to a hotel located on the 900 block of Mason Street regarding a report of a deceased person. 

‘At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.’

Tommy Lee Jones’ late daughter Victoria was arrested and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest in May in Santa Cruz, according to documents obtained by the Mail

Victoria was born in 1991 and made her screen debut at age 11 with a cameo role in her father’s film Men in Black II.

She later appeared in a 2005 episode of teen drama One Tree Hill and, that same year, in movie The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which was directed by her father.

Though she stepped away from acting as an adult, Victoria occasionally joined Tommy on the red carpet, including at the 2017 premiere of Just Getting Started and the Tokyo International Film Festival later that year.

After directing Victoria in his movie, Tommy praised her talents in a 2006 interview, calling her ‘a good actress’ who spoke ‘impeccable Spanish’.

Tommy won his only Oscar in 1994 for The Fugitive, which he starred in alongside Harrison Ford.
