An unsettling scene unfolded at Deerbrook Mall in Humble, Texas, on Saturday, where one person was shot, leading police to detain another individual amid reports of an active shooter.

Responding promptly, deputies from the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 teamed up with the Humble Police Department to address the situation at the mall, situated at 20100 block of U.S. Highway 59.

In an official statement, the constable’s office confirmed, “At this time, one victim has been reported shot, and one person has been detained.” They further assured that law enforcement officers are maintaining their presence at the scene as they conduct a thorough investigation.

“Please avoid the area and follow the directions of law enforcement personnel,” the sheriff’s office said. “Our deputies are working alongside our law enforcement partners to help secure the scene and protect the public.”
