In a tragic accident, a motorcyclist lost his life after losing control of his bike in Jacksonville, Florida, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening on Edgewood Avenue West, close to Raines High School.
According to JSO, the accident took place around 5 p.m. The motorcyclist, a young man in his early twenties, was traveling westbound in the 2700 block of Edgewood Avenue West when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle. The authorities suggest that excessive speed may have contributed to the rider’s loss of control, causing him to veer into the northbound lanes.
In the aftermath, the motorcyclist left the roadway, colliding with three poles before crashing. Emergency responders from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived promptly, but tragically, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
This unfortunate event adds to the rising toll of traffic-related fatalities in Duval County, marking the 46th death on the roads in 2026.
