Tragic Alabama Tale: Woman Strangled, Boyfriend Suffers Fatal Heart Attack While Hiding Her Body

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — Authorities in Alabama have revealed disturbing details in the case of a woman found dead in Chambers County earlier this month. The woman, who was identified as having been strangled to death, appears to be the victim of a tragic sequence of events. Investigators now suspect that her boyfriend died of a heart attack while trying to hide her body after allegedly killing her.

District Attorney Mike Segrest from Chambers County disclosed that the individuals involved were 47-year-old Jessica Folds, a resident of Lanett, and 44-year-old Daniel Robbins from Macon, Georgia, who were in a romantic relationship.

The autopsy reports conclude that Folds succumbed to strangulation. Meanwhile, Robbins, her boyfriend, was found to have died due to a heart attack.

Investigators postulate that Robbins is responsible for the murder of Folds. It’s thought that he was attempting to dispose of her body when the deadly heart attack struck.

When deputies arrived at the scene on June 10, along the 1000 block of Chambers County Road 86 near Lanett, they encountered Robbins’ truck still running. The truck’s tailgate was open, and investigators noted drag marks in the dirt. These marks led to where Folds’ body was discovered, supporting the belief that Robbins had begun moving her body before he collapsed.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the case at the request of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. No additional information has been released.
